Attention To Detail

There isn't even an app for video calls with the built-in 3MP front-facing camera.

Apple doesn't include a technological feature in its devices without a way to use it. It's that level of attention to detail that contributes to Apple's ability to beat up RIM and take its lunch money.

I've used a demo Playbook when their sales monkeys came to my office building. Seriously, this is DoA for all but those with Blackberry certifications and only because they have a financial interest in the platform.

BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet DoA

Under casual use conditions, the PlayBook’s battery held up for close to eight hours, which is on par with both generations of the iPad. With heavy use of Flash-based sites (when they functioned) and 1080p video-watching, the PlayBook’s battery hung in there for an impressive 5½ hours.

Where do they find the retarded monkeys that write for Wired?

The iPad gets 10 hours and change of battery life. (The article is reviewing the WiFi-only Playbook) The Playbook gets "close to eight hours." This means that the iPad gives at least 25% more battery life than the Playbook. How is that even close to being "on par?"

Also, when actually USING the Playbook, he got an "impressive" 5½ hours. When actually USING the iPad (movies, games, etc.), you get 10+ hours of battery life.

All that makes me wonder, was the reviewer pulling for the Playbook despite its flaws?

Automotive Description of the Year

The result? A 725-horsepower twin-turbocharged Teutonic terror that runs from zero to Ludicrous Speed faster than Spaceball One.

Doesn't get any better than that.

Android Gripes, Why do apps from the same company look worse on Android than on iPhone?

Since the apps of interest are from the same company, they should have the same user interface standard, even if the iPhone versions and the Android versions are developed by different people. But why do they look so different? Is it because iPhone developers are better at user interface design? Is it because the iPhone development environment is better than the Android’s? Is it because iPhone users care more about user interface? Or is it because Android itself implants the ignorance of beauty, usability and focus on details into the community at the first place?

Yes.

Video: Why you should never follow other cars too closely — Autoblog

My question is "why is the driver recording this?" Is he trying to record for posterity a pair of trucks hogging a highway?
